Joanne Appleby was born in Lancashire and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Career Highlights
Joanne’s professional career began with Carl Rosa Opera. She then went on to sing with the Glyndebourne festival and touring chorus where she remained for four seasons and understudied various roles. In 2002 she was signed to Sony BMG and spent 4 years recording and touring internationally as part of the multi-Platinum-selling, classical crossover group Amici Forever. After her brief departure from opera she returned to Glyndebourne to understudy the role of Micaëla in Carmen. Following further contracts at Glyndebourne and the ROH, she became a full-time member of the ENO Chorus in 2013.
