Previously for ENO: Bottom A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Recent engagements include: Oper Köln as Faraone Mosè in Egitto and Irish National Opera in the title role Bluebeard’s Castle, and a return to Hyogo Performing Arts Center to sing Kaspar Die Freischütz, Bottom (Israeli Opera); the world premiere of Gerald Barry’s Alice’s Adventures Underground (LA Philharmonic and Britten Sinfonia, conducted by Thomas Adès); his role debut as Blansac La scala di Seta (Orchestra of Scottish Opera); title role of Le nozze di Figaro (Garsington Opera and Théâtre de Champs-Elysées); and his house debut at Opera Colorado as Colline La bohème. In concert, he has appeared with the Melbourne, Queensland, Adelaide and Western Australian Symphonies, as well as the New York Philharmonic, the LA Philharmonic, the Britten Sinfonia, Auckland Philharmonia, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the Berlin Philharmonic (under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle). He studied on Opera Australia’s Young Artist Programme and later the Merola and Adler Fellowship Programmes at the San Francisco Opera.
