Anne-Marie Owens was born in South Shields and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Laura Sarti and at the National Opera Studio.
Previously at ENO: Juno Orpheus in the Underworld.
Career Highlights
During her long career she has performed with many of the world’s great opera companies, and with such orchestras as the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
Recent engagements include: Háta The Bartered Bride (Garsington Opera); a return to Scottish Opera to sing Filippyevna in Oliver Mears’s new production of Eugene Onegin; and Grandmother Buryjovka Jenůfa and Waltraute Die Walküre for the inaugural season of Grange Park Opera’s new Theatre in the Woods.
Further engagements include: Mamma Lucia Cavalleria rusticana (WNO); Auntie Peter Grimes, Countess Queen of Spades and Larina Eugene Onegin (Grange Park Opera); Mrs Herring Albert Herring (Théâtre du Capitole); and Mrs Grose The Turn of the Screw (Vienna Konzerthaus and Théâtre du Capitole).
