Directing work includes: Them! (National Theatre of Scotland); Creditors (Lyceum); The Skating Rink (Garsington); The Sewing Group (Royal Court); Titus Andronicus (Dundee Rep); Ophelia (Òran Mór); The Maids (Citizens); La bohème (Scottish Opera); The Breasts of Tiresias, L’heure espagnole (Grange Park); Tosca (Norrlandsoperan); La fanciulla del West, Faust, Dead Man Walking (Malmö Opera).

He is Associate Artist with National Theatre of Scotland.
