Step into the role of ENO Composer!
A new music making programme for KS2 classes; bringing a fusion of opera, film and animation for FREE as a creative springboard for collaborative composition work in the classroom.
Finish This… invites your class to be ENO Composers and tasks them with a mission to respond to, and resolve, a purposefully unfinished operatic piece titled ‘Blue, Red, Yellow…’. A creative catalyst for your pupils to embrace their imaginations and experiment to create new colour worlds and stories – all through the lens of opera.
The ENO provides film resources, lesson plans, class toolkit and online Teacher CPD – all co-designed with primary specialists, teachers and artists. We aim to give teachers the tools and support to confidently deliver a fun child-led creative approach to music making, whilst promoting self-expression, autonomy, and teamwork.
FREE to all state primary schools nationwide.

How does it work?
Finish This… is structured across 7 sessions, each lasting approximately 60 minutes.
The programme takes place during the Autumn Term 2022 and you’ll be asked to submit your class music piece back to the ENO by the start of December. The programme adopts a flexible delivery model to suit you. You might choose to deliver one session a week over a few weeks or deliver it more intensively across a few days.
The programme launches with a CPD webinar for teachers, available from the 5 September, to either watch live after school or to catch up later. You will be guided through the sessions and resources. CPD attendance is an essential part of the programme and attendance is strongly recommended.

Celebration
Each class will receive a celebratory package including an ENO certificate for pupils and congratulations film message from the composer.
Every class music submission will also be uploaded and available to listen to via our ENO SoundCloud.
Furthermore, the ENO composer and the ENO will select up to 25 music pieces from across the nation and bring these to life with a bespoke animation response film. This will be showcased across our website and social media platforms to celebrate the breadth of musical work and talent from across a range of schools.
