Matthew Kofi Waldren was anENO Sir Charles Mackerras Conducting Fellow. He studied at Fitzwilliam College‚ Cambridge, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama

He is closely associated with Will Todd’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, having conducted the work at ROH, OHP, Wilderness Festival and on disc. Further engagements include Pelléas et Mélisande (Assistant, Scottish Opera); The Yeomen of the Guard (Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company); La traviata (Opera Lyrica); Strekosa I Muravej (Tête-a-Tête, Grimeborn Festivals); Pelléas Unwrapped (Orchestra of Scottish Opera). He has worked extensively with the City of London Sinfonia, and has conducted the London Mozart Players and National Festival Orchestra. As an associate and assistant conductor he has worked alongside Xian Zhang‚ Stuart Stratford and Manlio Benzi. He was Chorus Master for OHP (2009–11) and was conductor of their inaugural Christine Collins Young Artist Scheme.
