Musa Ngqungwana

Musa Ngqungwana is an alumnus of the University of Cape Town and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.

Career Highlights
Recently, Musa debuted with the Glimmerglass Festival as Gottardo La gazza ladra; with the Los Angeles Opera as Queequeg, with Norwegian National Opera and Palm Beach Opera as Zuniga, and with Washington National Opera as Colline La bohème and as Stephen Kumalo in Weill’s Lost in the Stars.
He is the author of a memoir, Odyssey of an African Opera Singer: From Zwide Township to the World Stage, which is available on Amazon.
Notable engagements elsewhere: debut with Opera Philadelphia as Zuniga Carmen and reprises the role of Queequeg Moby Dick with Pittsburgh Opera and Utah Opera. Last season, he returned to the Glimmerglass Opera in his debut as Porgy Porgy and Bess, sang Leporello Don Giovanni with Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, joined the Dallas Opera as Queequeg and as Zaretsky Eugene Onegin, and performed Angelotti Tosca with Canadian Opera Company.
