Alexa Mason
Soprano
Alexa Mason was born in Cumbria and took part in ENO’s training scheme OperaWorks.
Previously for ENO: Dawn Marnie, Jakob Lenz (at Hampstead Theatre), premiere of Joanna Lee’s The Way Back Home (at Young Vic), Meretaten Akhnaten; cover roles at ENO include First Squire/Flowermaiden Parsifal, Susanna and Iris Marinus in the premiere of Van der Aa’s Sunken Garden.
Career Highlights
Alexa made her BBC Proms debut as the soloist in the first live performance of the Philip Glass/Ravi Shankar collaboration Passages.
Her concert work with the Auricle Ensemble has seen her tour Scotland with contemporary chamber works such as Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire and Maxwell Davies’s Miss Donnithorne’s Maggot, as well as programmes of cabaret songs, Mahler works, and Polly Peachum in Weill’s The Threepenny Opera.
