Career Highlights

Operatic engagements: all the major UK opera companies, as well as throughout Europe (Paris, Amsterdam, Geneva, Munich, Frankfurt, Salzburg) and North America (Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and the Metropolitan Opera, New York) in roles such as Dejanira Hercules, Leonore La Favorite, Carmen, Charlotte, Dorabella, Lucretia, Marguerite, Penelope Ulysses, Octavian, Composer Ariadne auf Naxos, Gluck’s Orfeo, Idamante, Poppea and Nerone L’incoronazione di Poppea, Hänsel, Sesto and Vitellia La clemenza di Tito, Sesto Giulio Cesare, Maffio Orsini Lucrezia Borgia, Le Prince Charmant Cendrillon, Ruggiero Alcina, and title roles Ariodante and Agrippina. She appears in concert and recital throughout the UK, Europe and the US, at Wigmore Hall, BBC Proms, Concertgebouw, Vienna Konzerthaus, Lincoln Centre and Carnegie Hall, among many prestigious venues and with orchestras including LSO, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, OAE, The English Concert, Hallé and Concertgebouw. This season she is a Hallé Associate Artist and will perform Berlioz’s Roméo et Juliette, Bach’s B Minor Mass and Mahler’s Symphony No. 3.

Forthcoming: Roméo et Juliette (LSO/Tilson Thomas); Mary Magdalene/Narrator The Apostles (LPO/Elder); Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 (CBSO/Gražinytė-Tyla); Sarah Robert Devereux (LA Opera); Ottavia L’incoronazione di Poppea (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées); and recitals with Christian Blackshawn and Julius Drake. In 2018 she was awarded an OBE for services to music.
