Christian Baldini is currently Music Director of the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra and the Camellia Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento.

Career Highlights
At home in the most imaginative and daring corners of contemporary music, Christian has presented numerous premières. He has also assisted Martyn Brabbins with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Ferneyhough’s La terre est un homme and Birtwistle’s Gawain. He is equally comfortable in the core symphonic and operatic repertoire.
He was also cover conductor at the San Francisco Symphony (2014–16). He is a regular guest conductor at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, where in 2014 he conducted the world premiere of Oscar Strasnoy’s opera Requiem, directed by Matthew Jocelyn, and in 2016 a Dallapiccola double-bill of Il prigioniero and Volo di note, directed by Michał Znaniecki.
Awards and achievements: He was a finalist in the 2012 Nestlé/Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award, while in September 2015 his debut CD, of Mozart Overtures and Arias with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and soprano Elizabeth Watts, was BBC Music Magazine’s ‘Recording of the Month’.
