Glen Sheppard is a director and assistant director of opera, and a director and producer of film, based in London and Berlin.

Career Highlights
Originally from London, Canada, he trained as an actor at Toronto’s Ryerson Theatre School and worked as an actor in theatre, film and television for some years. After a stint in Paris, he was Lab Associate at the English Theatre Berlin before moving into opera. He has worked as an assistant and staff director at ENO and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Danish National Opera and Bard Summerscape.
Films he has made with his partner Fritz Polzer have screened internationally and won numerous awards.
This past year he has premiered three original opera-based performances in Berlin: Y is a Question I Keep Asking (HB55); Alexandria, a free adaptation of Handel’s Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno (Vierte Welt); and Ausser sich (ORi Berlin), an adaptation of Salome for soprano, recorded baritone, two male actor/dancers and electronics, in collaboration with Swedish minimalist composer Tomas Nordmark,. Later this spring he premieres an adaptation of Debussy’s Chansons de Bilitis.
