Hazel McBain
Soprano
Hazel McBain is a Scottish soprano who graduated with distinction from the opera course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. On graduating, she received the Ian Smith of Stornoway Award. She previously graduated with first-class honours from the Royal College of Music. In the 2016/17 Season she was an Emerging Artist at Scottish Opera where she performed numerous roles.

Recent engagements include: Nanetta Falstaff, Musetta (Opera Bohemia); Mademoiselle Silberklang Der Schauspieldirektor (Pop-Up Opera); Susanna (Garsington Opera Alvarez performances); Fräulein Bürstner/Leni in Glass’s The Trial, Giannetta The Elixir of Love Kätchen Werther (Scottish Opera); Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen (British Youth Opera); Constance Dialogues des Carmélites (Scottish Ballet); Susanna, Papagena, Minerva Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Servilia La clemenza di Tito, Lisette La Rondine, Anne Page Sir John in Love (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). She is currently in the Opera Studio at the Salzburg Landestheater for the 2018/19 Season, singing the roles of Javotte/ Pousette Manon, Pepi Wiener Blut and Barbarina. She will also cover the roles of Despina and Susanna.
