Juan Sancho initially trained as a pianist before entering the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya to study singing in the Early Music department.

Career Highlights
Juan has worked with conductors such as Christie, Leonhardt, Biondi, Savall, Minkowski and Egarr, and has appeared with many of the important European early music ensembles, including Concerto Köln, Academy of Ancient Music, Les Arts Florissants, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Hésperion XXI, Les musiciens du Louvre and Il Pomo d’Oro.
Opera engagements include: La Scala, Milan; Teatro Real, Madrid; La Fenice, Venice; Prague National Theatre; Barbican; Opéra Comique and Cité de la Musique, Paris; Opéra National du Rhin; Lincoln Center. He has appeared at many leading music festivals, including Aix-en-Provence, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Antwerp Early Music Festival.
DVD/CD recordings include: Catone Catone in Utica, Arminio, Siroe, rè di Persia, Alessandro (Decca); Artasserse (Erato); Monteverdi’s trilogy from Teatro Real with Les Arts Florissants/Christie (Dynamics/Virgin); Virtù di strali d’amore with Fabio Biondi (Naxos).
