Llio Evans, originally from Wales, gained a first-class honours degree from the RWCMD and an MA with distinction from the Wales International Academy of Voice.

Career Highlights

Notable engagements elsewhere: as an Alvarez Young Artist, she covered Despina and Mimi in Offenbach’s Vert-Vert, and sang Iris Semele (Garsington); Clorinda (HighTime Opera); Blonde (Pop-Up Opera); Yum-Yum, Gretel (Co-Opera Co.); Susanna, Pamina (Opera’r Ddraig); The Little One in the UK premiere of Eötvös’s The Golden Dragon (Music Theatre Wales, UK tour, South Korea). She is an accomplished recitalist with appearances at Garsington, Cardiff Music Festival, Swansea Music Festival, Llandeilo Music Festival and with Ensemble Cymru. Concert engagements include Messiah (Bristol Ensemble at Colston Hall), Mendelssohnn’s Elijah (St John’s, Smith Square, Three Choirs Festival/Philharmonia Orchestra), and Bach’s Coffee Cantata (Ensemble Cymru). She has also appeared on BBC Radio 3 as the soprano soloist in Arwel Hughes’s Gweddi (BBCNOW/Owain Arwel Hughes).

Awards and achievements: Her many awards include the Dame Anne Evans Award. She is a BYO and Welsh National Youth Opera alumna, and a former Alvarez Young Artist at Garsington Opera where she recently received the Leonard Ingrams Award.
