Natalie Herman was born in London to a Russian circus family. She joined the ENO Chorus in 1992.

Previously for ENO: Praskowia The Merry Widow, Queen of the Night The Magic Flute, Mother Madam Butterfly, Madame Dilly On the Town, Newspaper Seller Death in Venice, Mayor’s Wife Jenufa.

Career Highlights

Natalie studied piano and percussion at the Royal Academy of Music before going on to read music at Dartington College of Arts, and subsequently training as a teacher. Following a successful career in education she began singing professionally, performing as a soloist, singing with some of the country’s top professional choirs and small vocal ensembles, and working with conductors such as Sir Georg Solti, Riccardo Muti and Christopher Hogwood.
