Nicholas Ansdell-Evans
Assistant Conductor
Nicholas Ansdell-Evans has been a full-time member of the ENO music staff since 2002, where he has worked on countless productions as assistant conductor or répétiteur.
Previously for ENO: Salome, Acis and Galatea (ENO Studio Live), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Rodelinda, Lulu, The Winter’s Tale, Partenope and Jonathan Dove’s The Day After.
Career Highlights
Nicholas is also a composer. He recently conducted the première of his cello concerto, Into the world of light, with his orchestra, Tamino Orchestra. His chamber opera Carina has received a highly acclaimed showcase at ENO.
His extensive freelance work as music staff elsewhere includes: Royal Opera House, Aix-en-Provence, Salzburg, Opera Rara, Hallé, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia.
