Peter Hoare initially trained as a percussionist, before making his debut as a singer at WNO.
Previously for ENO: Orpheus Man The Mask of Orpheus, Zinovy Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Faust The Damnation of Faust, Hermann The Queen of Spades and, most recently, Laca Jenůfa.
Career Highlights
Recent engagements include: Faust The Damnation of Faust (Three Choirs Festival); Schoolmaster/Cock/Mosquito in concert performances of Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen (LSO/Rattle); Mortimer Lessons in Love and Violence (Staatsoper Hamburg, Opéra de Lyon), a role he created at the ROH last year; Captain Vere Billy Budd (Den Norske Opera, Oslo); Sapkin From the House of the Dead (Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels).
Forthcoming: Hauptmann Wozzeck (Greek National Opera); Messiah (Orchestre d’Auvergne).
