My favourite ENO opera was when we performed the Ring Cycle in 2003/4

Best ENO moment(s) are performing Act 3 of Valkyrie on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2004 and the Peter Grimes Prom with Ed Gardner and Stuart Skelton in 2012.

How did you start?
I was 18 at the time and started by fluke as my School Head of Music asked me to play bass in the jazz band,I was an increasingly frustrated cellist at the time, and such was the affect on me that I finished my grade 8 cello a few months later,never to play it again, the bass replacing everything and more…

Passion outside of opera?
My other passions are skiing, Newcastle United and my son, Stan.
